Romance on Charles Bridge, Prague

While Sam and I were in Prague we were able to sneak away and spend about an hour and a half together ALONE! I am telling you it was so romantic! We walked from our apartment on Karlova in Old Town and just strolled on and across the Charles Bridge. We got starbucks and a rolled/donut pastry thing (trdlo) and then headed back. I was able to get lots of pics!

The Charles Bridge is a famous historic bridge. The construction started in 1357. The Charles Bridge is actually a replacement for the Judith Bridge which was damaged by a flood in 1342. It crosses the Vltava River and connects Old Town to the Prague Castle (among other sites).

Kids in Prague

Of all the sites and sounds in Prague (and there were many) my very favorite may have been these kids. People may say (and they aren't fibbing) that traveling is harder with kids. But, it also makes it so much fun! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like going out without kids. It is refreshing and rejuvenating. But, I love the dynamic they add to the craziness of travel.

Say Goodbye to Sugar (in 2014 and forever)!

I know food is a touchy subject. It is a sensitive topic. Because, let’s face it, food is tradition. Food is comfort. Food is cultural. Food is so much apart of our lives. So, sometimes cutting something out.. like sugar.. feels impossible!

Well, I am here to encourage you to give it up. Yes, the substance we have grown up loving. The substance that has us smiling when we think of our favorite Christmas treats or a spoonful of that yummy, oh-so-addicting cookie dough. The substance that adorns all the grocery isles in all the most exciting and colorful packages. The stuff we can hardly keep from our children and loved ones… and OURSELVES!!!

Sam Turned Super Old on Christmas Eve!!

What can I say about Christmas Eve in our house?! It is a busy day. Sam was born on the 24th. Meaning, since I have married him I have made a huge effort to really focus on him for the day! Growing up I think he felt like his birthday got looked over. (Which would be really easy to do because Christmas Eve is such a fun, exciting part of Christmas!) So, we decided the first half of the day is his birthday, and the second half is Christmas Eve!!

2013- The Scheid Family's Year in Review

I can't believe another year has flown by and another glorious year has begun. I always get a little contemplative as one year ends and another begins. I love life and I love all the adventures both good and sometimes hard that it offers. I seem to be a lucky girl and I am looking forward to another year filled with, well, craziness! 

For any family members and friends that read this post-- THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for being in my life and getting me all emotional as I review the year and daydream about what is in store for us in 2014. Life would not be the same without all of you.. no matter how small or large the part you play in my life is. Have a blessed and happy new year! Enjoy our 2013 year in review.
