Here in our house we are absolutely crazy about smoothies. Green smoothies, to be more specific. I have been drinking them for years but now my husband literally doesn't go a morning without them (Well, okay, maybe 1 day a week he will skip).

16 months in 6 minutes
Well, it might take you a little longer than 6 minutes to read, but you get my drift.
Sometimes life gets a bit overwhelming. Even when you have all the help you need to get through some difficult times, sometimes you still can't do everything you want to do. (Mmm hmm, blogging.)
Catching up on a blog can be a lot of work. I have chosen to make it simple. Here's what we've missed in a nutshell. (From present until way back when.)

5 Years of 4ths
Happy 4th of July 2013 (from Katterbach, Germany)
The fourth of July is one of our very favorite days of the
year. The kids and I were lucky enough to celebrate the holiday in the good ol
U S of A last year with family. My husband on the other hand hasn’t celebrated
a 4th in the states for a while now. He is incredibly homesick for a good
old fashioned fourth. Next year he will most likely be out of the country again
but if by some little miracle he isn’t we are going to celebrate big.

Neuendettelsau Pool Day
This pool is awesome and it's only about 5 minutes from our house! Most of it is indoors so we don't even have to lube up the kids. There are a couple of areas where you can swim through to the outside if you need some vitamin D. There's a huge water slide and no one is there to monitor it so we can take Londyn and Trip over and over again. They have this kiddie area that the kids love. This day I decided to break out the camera. Sam was annoyed. He was actually splashing me (and the camera) with water!!! Sometimes he wishes I didn't have a nice camera, that way I wouldn't be in His, Londyn and Trip's faces all the time. (Tough luck, babe.) In 20 years maybe he'll thank me.

Para-droppers in Aviano, Italy
Last week Sam went to Aviano, Italy to fly some troops around and drop them out of the sky. They dropped over 1600 dudes... both American and Italian soldiers. The week was a success... mostly because they ate seriously amazing Italian food every night for dinner! :)
Puddle Love

This year summer came late. And I mean very late. There were weeks where we didn’t see the sun, and truthfully I think a lot of us wondered if it would ever come. We skipped spring, we didn’t see flowers for a long time and the crops are a couple of months late. Seriously. Our landlords didn’t get their usual business at the Beer Garden and we were worried for them. (Most people don’t come out when it’s so rainy.) There was flooding all over Europe and there were even some deaths related to the floods. At one point southern Bavaria had over 20,000 emergency workers battling the floods. Sooo... do you believe me? We've had LOTS of rain.

Our Family
UPDATE:
A family of 6, one puppy and 6 chickens! We are in Colorado Springs and enjoying (almost) everything about it. (I could do better without so much wind!) One of these days we will get pics up of Gertrude, Goldie, Flower, Red, Blanche and Blossom! (The chickens!)
We are a family of four. We currently reside in Bavaria, Germany and our life is an adventure. This blog is how I hope to share our life.

I'm totally in love with this guy. I'm the luckiest. I think he might like me too.
I'm married to an Army helicopter pilot. This was at his welcome home ceremony where Londyn followed him around and simply would not let him go. I didn't want to let him go either. 10 months is too long to go without daddy (or a husband)!
Our precious angel, Londyn. She is spunky, sassy, and sweet. She knows what she wants and she is extremely smart. She reads many books and knows a lot of the words verbatim. She likes to count, sing, dance, and do art. She is kind and loving but it wasn't until just recently that she finally started cuddling with us.
To view some special posts about Londyn check these out!
Our little sunshine, Trippy. He is the sweetest thing. He has the kindest voice you've ever heard. He sings songs, speaks incredibly well and he is a little guy on a mission. He can say his ABCs and count. Everywhere we go people make comments about how he's in charge. (Although, if I am being totally honest, Londyn and Trip both run the show around here.)
Yes, we have a pet and Londyn named it Gaga. I begged for him for months and finally Sam gave in. He's the only fish I've ever had that didn't die within the first week or so. Seriously. He's hardy and he eats a TON. So, I am a little bit proud of him... and me for not killing him... right away, at least. He's been with us since July 2013.
There you have it. We're a family and we're happy. We're blessed and blessed... and even more blessed.
One Little Sparkle
Some may wonder why, as I decided to revamp our family blog, I chose the name "One Little Sparkle." Well, for one, I love anything sparkly! Especially if it's the sun glistening on the water or the twinkle I see in my children's eyes. I love anything with glitter, and anyone who knows me knows I can't resist a sparkly Christmas Tree and I put mine up on November 1st.
One day a while back I was googling synonyms for "life." I ran across the word sparkle in the synonym section of the word. I immediately loved the idea. A sparkle, a soul, an essence, an excitement. Our souls ARE a sparkle, they are a light... our lives are bright.
Welcome to our new family blog.
